You will find complete information and useful instructions about the chalet in the binder located on the kitchen island. It is very important to read them.

WIFI:

  • WIFI network: TP-LINK_8ED0
  • Password: Olivier2017
  • If ever the internet is not working, simply unplug the router which is located on the TV stand in the living room for 1 minute and plug it back in.

IN CASE OF A 9-1-1 EMERGENCY:

  • The address is: 91 Chemin du Domaine Escarpé, Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, QC J0T 2C0
  • The nearest intersection is route 125

FIRE ALARM:

Respond quickly to prevent firefighters from moving unnecessarily if you are sure the alarm is unfounded

  • You have 45 seconds to dial your keypad access code to cancel the alarm.
  • You must call or text us immediately at 514-893-4721 so that we inform the alarm center not to send the firefighters unnecessarily because charges may be applicable for travel following a false alarm.
  • Arm the alarm system for each exit to prevent break-ins.

EXTERIOR COUCHES:

  • Cover outdoor sofa cushions when not in use to prevent too rapid fading from the sun.
  • There is a drop cloth in a safe next to it.

BEACH UMBRELLA:

  • Keep it closed with its protective canvas when not in use

SMOKERS:

  • It is forbidden to smoke in the chalet.
  • We provide you with metal boxes in different places that are clearly visible as ashtrays, please use them!
  • A single cigarette butt discarded in the wild pollutes up to 500 liters of water or 1 cubic meter of snow, can take up to 12 years to decompose, and could cost you money if maintenance workers have to pick it up for you.

DOORS:

  • Never leave the doors open because little friends could take the opportunity to break into the chalet and we don’t want that! 😊.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • Remember to arm the alarm system every time you leave.
  • Close all windows when you are away even if only for 1 hour. Thunderstorms with strong winds develop rapidly in the area and damage caused by water infiltration through windows can be high.
  • Do not place or spread a towel or damp cloth on the stair railings to avoid damaging the wood.

NOISE AND PRIVATE PROPERTIES OF NEIGHBORS:

  • Respect the 10 p.m. curfew for exterior noise.
  • Do NOT play music and keep your voice volume at a minimum outside between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. out of respect for the neighborhood.
  • Keep vocal and musical noise levels at a reasonable level at all times, even during the day.
  • Do not venture onto neighbors’ property.

CAMPFIRE:

Permitted only if the fire index allows it

  • Check the open fire prohibition notices on the RIDM site
  • It is strictly forbidden to make campfires elsewhere than in the fireplace provided for this purpose. Including anywhere on the domain.
  • Fires are not allowed in winter.

BEACH:

  • The beach is reserved for long-term rented cabins only. If asked, say you rented for a period of one month or more.
  • Be courteous and discreet and do not leave any waste or residual materials on the beach.
  • To get there, on foot or by car:
  • Go down rue du Domaine Escarpé,
  • Cross Rte 125 completely and take the small path a little to the right, between two trees, which runs alongside the house with the red roof.
  • There is a clearing to park your vehicle there.

FIREPLACE:

  • Locate the fire extinguishers at the start of the stay.
  • The glass or screen door must always be closed.
  • You have to put the 2 keys at the bottom of the door to the right to start a fire.
  • Once properly lit, you can adjust the keys as needed.
  • Close the keys all the way to the left before leaving the chalet so as not to let cold air in when the chalet is not occupied.
  • VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure the stove hood is not running before starting a fire as this causes negative pressure which will quickly create a lot of smoke in the cottage.

SPA:

Carefully read the instructions for the SPA in order to maintain the hygiene of the water and to avoid costs for not having followed the important instructions.

  • Instructions for the SPA are posted on the wall to the left of the rear entrance door.
  • Maintain good water quality by adding the product after each swim (white powder in a container on the steps of the spa).
  • The water level should be just above the highest jets (except for the neck if there is any) and no higher than the bottom of the pads.
  • Use only plastic cups outside, except for beer cans, especially around the spa. They are in the cabinet above the microwave.
  • Contact us immediately at 1-888-456-8745 if anything seems abnormal with the spa or if the water is not clear and limpid. We can intervene quickly.

GARBAGE, RECYCLING, COMPOSTING:

Please sort your residual materials well. Charges may be added to your bill if we need to sort them for you.

  • Leave your garbage on the curb at all times so it can be picked up regardless of the day of collection.
  • Do not leave excess garbage or recycling outside outside the garbage cans to avoid the visit of raccoons;
  • Garbage (GREEN) – Recycling (BLUE) – Composting (BROWN)

SNOW REMOVAL:

  • Except during the night, it is best to move your vehicles when the snow plow is there so that the snow removal can be done properly.
  • In winter, if you are not in a 4 X 4 vehicle, you can park at the top of the driveway.
  • A non-slip mix is in a bin at the top of the driveway if needed.
