ABOUT CHALET LE REFUGE

Beautiful, rustic cottage that can accommodate up to 8 people (Rate according to number of persons) in the heart of the Laurentians, 1 h 15 from Montreal .

Located in Ste-Lucie-des-Laurentides, this house will meet your expectations.

Nested on a 5 acre lot, 475 meters above sea level, the breathtaking, 180 degree view will let you preside over the rolling mountain range as far as the eyes can see.

In this house, you will find: 3 closed bedrooms and one on the opened mezzanine, plus another summer bedroom in the tower, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 indoor fireplaces plus an outside fire pit, a sound system , a 42” flat TV screen and a dishwasher. Security gates for children have been installed in the stairway.

The exterior year round spa is at your disposal.

For on-site or close-by activities, you can choose between cycling, swimming at Lac Ménard (7 minutes). You can also rent canoes, kayaks, pedalos or wind surf boards at Lac des Sables in Sainte-Agathe des-Monts or rent canoes and kayaks at À l’Abordage in Val-David to go down the gentle Rivière-du-Nord to Lac Raymon where you can choose to get back to your starting point by shuttle or by bicycle (for the whole family). You can also hike  up the mountain in the back or in the forest out front or go to Mont KaiÏcop to start from L’interval outdoor center for hiking & mountain biking or cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that we are looking for a MATURE, DISCREET and RESPECTFUL clientele. As a result and following too many bad experiences, we no longer rent to groups whose average adult age is under 28 or to people who want to party without worrying about noise for neighbors because even if they are far away, as we are in the mountains and in a peaceful environment, the sound carries a lot and night noises can bother them, so PARTIES ARE FORBIDDEN. Thank you for your understanding.

Animals: Note that small dogs may be accepted in the chalet with certain restrictions and under certain conditions. Fees of $75 for 1 dog and $25 for a 2nd dog may apply (2 dogs maximum). Full details in the chalet booking form.

Complete bedding is provided as well as towels for the showers.

The kitchen is very well equipped. You will find, among other things, an espresso coffee machine, a coffee grinder, a food processor as well as equipment for the fondue (gas) in addition to all the usual accessories in a kitchen. In general, some basic elements are there such as: sugar, salt, pepper, spices, coffee filter, cellophane and aluminum foil, vegetable oil, etc…

WINTER WARNING

During the winter season: make sure to have good winter tires.

DO NOT RIDE UP THE DRIVEWAY TO THE CHALET UNLESS YOU ARE IN 4X4. The driveway is a steep slope and over 100 meters (300 feet) long. Park at the bottom of the driveway and use the sleds to bring your luggage up to the house. In other seasons, drive the vehicles up, near the barn. Please inform ALL members of your group.
