IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO READ FOR THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF YOUR STAY AT LE REFUGE:

COVID-19 INSTRUCTIONS

If you have not already done so, we invite you to read our COVID-19 communication for the instructions and measures to take for your health and that of your loved ones during your stay at the chalet.

CHALETS INSTRUCTIONS

Upon entering the cottage, you will find useful information and instructions on the left wall of the main entrance. It is very important for you to read and follow them; especially those concerning the use of the spa and the product to be added after each bath.

WI-FI:

  • Password: ddlew39035
  • When unstable, turn off the router on the desk behind the main staircase by pressing the button behind the device for one minute.
  • Do not do a RESET, just turn it off and on again.

IN CASE OF A 9-1-1 EMERGENCY:

  • The address is: 2315 Ch du Vieux 7 Rang, Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides, QC J0T 2J0
  • The nearest intersection is route 125

FIRE ALARM:

Respond quickly to prevent firefighters from moving unnecessarily if you are sure the alarm is unfounded

  • You have 45 seconds to dial your keypad access code to cancel the alarm.
  • You must call or text us immediately at 514-893-4721 so that we inform the alarm center not to send the firefighters unnecessarily because charges may be applicable for travel following a false alarm.

WATER (Artesian well):

Tap water is drinkable and very safe to drink, but valuable.

  • Take only “utility” showers.
  • Limit time spent in the shower to a minimum.
  • Wait 20 minutes between each shower when there are many of you.
  • If the water runs out, it will come back an hour later, but you will need to use it for a minimum of 12 hours to avoid further breakdowns.
  • There is a natural source of fresh and pure water two meters from the corner of the house near the SPA.

CAMPFIRE:

Permitted only if the fire index allows it:

  • Check the open fire prohibition notices on the RIDM site
  • It is strictly forbidden to make campfires elsewhere than in the fireplace provided for this purpose near the spa. Including anywhere on the estate.
  • Fires are not permitted in winter.

SPA:

Follow the instructions provided exactly to avoid unnecessary charges.

  • Maintain good water quality by adding the product after each swim.
  • Contact us immediately at 1-888-456-8745 if anything seems abnormal with the spa or if the water is not clear and limpid. We can intervene quickly.
  • Use only plastic cups outside, except for beer cans, especially around the spa.
  • Do NOT hang wet or even damp towels on the stair railings

WOOD STOVE:

It can be dangerous to start a fire if used improperly;

  • The fireplace door must always be closed: there is a very high risk of overheating or even fire in the house.
  • Before dark, in winter, put one or two large logs in the fireplace and set the air access to a minimum

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:

Locate fire extinguishers at the start of your stay.

  • To the left of the patio door
  • Down the stairs to the basement
  • To the left of the round window upstairs

ALARM SYSTEM:

  • Check immediately on your arrival if the alarm system is armed, see inside the wardrobe
  • Dial the same numeric code as the one for the front door.
  • When exiting, press and to arm the system.

SMOKERS:

  • We put at your disposal metal boxes in various places clearly visible as ashtrays, please use them!
  • A single cigarette butt discarded in the wild pollutes up to 500 liters of water or 1 cubic meter of snow, can take up to 12 years to decompose, and could cost you money if our maintenance staff have to pick it up for you

GAMES:

  • Board games are under the living room table
  • The outdoor games are under the benches on the veranda

VACUUM CLEANER:

  • The vacuum cleaner is under the basement stairs

ELECTRICAL EXTENSIONS:

  • There are extensions in the wardrobe from the main entrance

SOUND SYSTEM:

(after 10 p.m., all windows closed, no excessive noise outside, no screaming!)

  • The sound system is behind the spiral staircases.

EXTERIOR TAPS:

  • To avoid the risk of leaks and therefore water failures, always close directly on the house

BABY ACCESSORIES:

  • Use the two fences to block the stairs to prevent falls;
  • There is a kitchen seat and a mattress.

DOGS

  • They should be confined to the first floor. Use the gates for the stairs and do not allow them to go in the beds or on the armchairs;
  • Do not leave them loose outside unattended;
  • Their “poops” must be gathered in the field;

TEMPERATURE AND COMFORT:

  • The heaters are all adjusted to 18 degrees.
  • Prefer heating with a fireplace in the cold season
  • For added comfort in summer, open the green window at the top of the observatory and hang it with the small hook from the ceiling. Then open one or two small windows in the basement … If the other windows in the house are closed, it will leave the house cooler.

GARBAGE, RECYCLING, COMPOSTING:

Charges may be added to your invoice if we have to sort the residual materials for you.

The alternate collection of garbage and recycling is done early Monday morning every two weeks, so it is imperative that all waste is taken down in the bins along the municipal road every Sunday evening.

Garbage (BLACK):

    • Secure the clips of the outdoor garbage bin to avoid the visit of raccoons;
    • Place the surplus in the green bin for recycling and the black bin for garbage located on the road on Sunday evening.

Recycling (GREEN):

    • Use the recycling bin located in the kitchen.
    • If space is short, there is a bin for recycling and one for garbage outside.

Composting (BROWN):

    • There is a small bin on the counter for organic waste
    • Spare bags are under the kitchen counter;
    • Place the full bags in the bin (light brown) located at the bottom of the driveway.

SECURITY:

  • There is an adjustable gate for the basement staircase in the entry closet.

NOISE AND PRIVATE PROPERTIES OF NEIGHBORS:

  • Respect the 10 p.m. curfew for exterior noise.
  • No excessive exterior noise will be tolerated under penalty of eviction from the premises without reimbursement.
  • When the music is loud, please close all windows.
  • Do NOT play music and keep a minimum volume of voice outdoors between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. out of respect for the neighborhood.
  • Keep vocal and musical noise levels at a reasonable level at all times, even during the day. The place is secluded and quiet but the nearest neighbors are only 300 meters away and given the tranquility of the surroundings the sound carries very far.
  • Do not venture onto neighbors’ property. The land is limited: from the Hydro-Quebec line 50 meters behind the barn (this line continues far behind the mountain) PLEASE DO NOT EXCEED THIS LIMIT

PARKING:

  • In winter, only 4X4 vehicles can safely ride on the private road.
  • Park your vehicles at the bottom of the road in rainy weather.
  • Use the sleds in the shed to get your equipment up and down.
  • Do not get into the vehicle on the embankment surrounding the house.
