IN THE EVENT OF A 9-1-1 EMERGENCY:
- The chalet’s address is: 1191, rue de L’Aube, Val-David, Qc J0T 2N0
- The nearest intersection is Montée Gagnon
FIRE ALARM:
Respond quickly to prevent firefighters from moving unnecessarily if you are sure the alarm is unfounded
- You have 45 seconds to dial your keypad access code to cancel the alarm.
- You must call or text us immediately at 514-893-4721 so that we inform the alarm center not to send the firefighters unnecessarily because charges may be applicable for travel following a false alarm.
GROUND FLOOR DOORS:
- To engage and lock the interior and exterior ground floor doors, you must lift the handle fully up before you can turn the knob or turn the key.
WATER (Artesian well):
Tap water is drinkable and very safe to drink, but valuable. If there are many of you:
- Take only “utility” showers.
- Limit time spent in the shower to a minimum.
- Wait 20 minutes between each shower.
- If the water ever runs out, contact us at 1-888-456-8745 but the pump will restart on its own after 30 minutes.
TELEPHONE:
- Activate WiFi calls from your smartphone because the cellular network is not very strong inside the chalet.
- (Settings + Wi-Fi call + activate)
TELEVISION:
SPA:
Follow the instructions exactly to avoid unnecessary charges.
- Instructions for the spa are stuck on the interior door of the basement entrance closet.
- Maintain good water quality by adding the product (white powder in the container on the steps of the spa) after each swim.
- Use only plastic cups outside, except for beer bottles, especially around the spa. They are in the cabinet over the microwave.
- Do NOT hang wet or even damp towels on the stair railings as they are made of metal.
- Contact us immediately at 1-888-456-8745 if anything seems abnormal with the spa or if the water is not clear and limpid. We can intervene quickly.
WOOD STOVE:
It can be very, very dangerous to start a fire if used improperly;
- Instructions are posted on the wall facing the wood stove.
- Locate fire extinguishers at the start of your stay.
CAMPFIRE:
Permitted only if the fire index allows it
- Check the fire ban notices on the RIDM website
- It is strictly forbidden to make campfires elsewhere than in the fireplace provided for this purpose near the spa. Including anywhere on the estate.
- Fires are not permitted in winter.
KITCHEN THERMOSTAT:
- Never put the thermostat near the refrigerator to 0 otherwise it will heat up continuously. Leave it at a minimum of 5 degrees.
SMOKERS:
- It is forbidden to smoke in the chalet.
- We put at your disposal metal boxes in various places clearly visible as ashtrays, please use them!
- A single cigarette butt discarded in the wild pollutes up to 500 liters of water or 1 cubic meter of snow, can take up to 12 years to decompose, and could cost you money if maintenance workers have to pick it up for you.
NOISE AND PRIVATE PROPERTIES OF NEIGHBORS:
- Respect the 10 p.m. curfew for exterior noise.
- Do NOT play music and keep a minimum volume of voice outdoors between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. out of respect for the neighborhood.
- Keep vocal and musical noise levels at a reasonable level at all times, even during the day.
- Do not venture onto neighbors’ property.
DOGS
- They should be confined to the first floor. Use the barriers for the stairs.
- Do not allow them to go in the beds or on the armchairs;
- Do not leave them loose outside unattended;
- Their “poops” must be gathered in the field 😊.
GARBAGE, RECYCLING, COMPOSTING:
- Charges may be added to your invoice if we have to sort the residual materials for you.

- The spare bags are under the kitchen sink.

TOURIST INFORMATION:
“La Gillespie” TRAIL:
The Gillespie track runs along the back ground and runs parallel to the rue de L’Aube. Once on the track:
- If you go to the left, the trail goes to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, it is free but is not marked (trail for experts!).
- If you go to the right, you will arrive, after about 600 meters, in the Regional Park.
- Note that La Gillespie is a cross-country ski trail. Please take the left trail if you are snowshoeing.
REGIONAL PARK:
It is about half a kilometer from the chalet for people who wish to hike, cross-country ski or snowshoe.
- You can buy your entrance fees to the park at Chalet Anne-Piché, Chalet Far Hills or online on the park’s website: www.parcregional.com.
- Due to the limited capacity during the pandemic, reservations are strongly recommended for weekends, holidays and school vacations.
- THE PARK MAP IS ON ONDAGO This application for smartphones allows you to geolocate in the Park. It therefore becomes almost impossible to get lost in the trails.
- Avoid bringing your paper maps by downloading the app for free. You can also download it from the park’s website.
